Resume Builder

Build the two documents Japanese employers ask for. Fill the form in English on the left; output renders in Japanese on the right. Nothing leaves your browser.

1 Header info

The 職務経歴書 header is simpler than the 履歴書, just today's date (top right) and your name (right-aligned, below the date). No photo required. We auto-fill today's date; you only need to type your name.
Convention is the date you finalized the document. Leave blank to use today's date automatically.

2 Career summary (職務要約)

A 3–5 sentence overview of your career so far. Recruiters skim this first to decide whether to keep reading. Cover: how many years of experience, your specialty/industry, your most recent role, and the impact you've had. Keep it factual and concrete (years, scale, results).

3 Career history (職務経歴)

The heart of the document. List companies in reverse-chronological order (newest first). For each: company name, the period you worked there, your role, the duties you handled, and the results/projects you delivered. Use one bullet per line in the Duties and Achievements fields, newlines render as bullet points (•) in the output. Quantify wherever you can: "led a team of 5", "cut response time from 800ms to 120ms", "drove revenue growth of ¥40M YoY". For your current job, check the 在職中 box instead of typing an end date.

4 Skills (活かせる経験・知識・技術)

List transferable skills the company would value: technical stack, languages (programming + spoken), management/leadership scope, methodologies (Agile, OKRs, etc.). One bullet per line. Be specific, "Python (8 years)", "AWS (EC2 / RDS / Lambda)", "English: Native / Japanese: N2 Business" beats vague labels.

5 Qualifications & certifications (資格・免許)

Same content as your 履歴書, list JLPT, Japanese driver's license, and any professional certifications with the date acquired.

6 Self-PR (自己PR)

Longer than the rirekisho self-PR, typically 1–3 paragraphs. Open with a single sentence about your strongest attribute, then back it up with a concrete example from your career history, then end with how you'd apply it at the new company. The format Japanese recruiters expect: claim → evidence → contribution.
Tip for a clean PDF: in the print dialog, expand More settings and uncheck Headers and footers so the URL, page number, and timestamp don't appear on the exported PDF.
